Well, I haven’t gotten a heck of a lot done the past few weeks, I’ve had a lot more schoolwork than usual. However, I did manage to start work on a train model, with the hope of eventually making a “hit people with a train” spell for Oblivion. The idea is that you’ll cast the spell at a target and a portal opens nearby. A train then flies out of the portal and hits your target along with nearby targets, before vanishing in a flash of light.
Another idea was to make a set of distraction spells, such as one where a basketball hoop appears above your target’s head, and a bowling ball falls through it and hits your target on the head, knocking him unconcious and lowering intelligence.
Another one where a cloud of purple smoke appears over the target’s head and clouds his vision, leaving him to stumble about like a moron.
Another idea was to have a spell replace the target’s shoes with banana peels and cause him to slip and fall repeatedly for the duration of the spell.
Another deadly spell idea I had (which is admittedly unoriginal) is to place a number countdown over the heads of targets within an area (it would be a countdown somewhere between 6 and 15 seconds); when the countdown hits zero they burst into flame and die nearly instantly.
Of course, this is all assuming I can get visual effects working. I don’t even really need particles, as long as I can get an animation working and be able to cast it as a spell. That’s going to be the hard part.
